New Report: World’s Premier AIDS Event Neglects Populations Most at Risk for HIV

Independent assessment indicates severe underrepresentation of , , and people who use drugs at the biennial International Conference. A new report indicates that the International Conference (IAC), a biennial event convened by the International   Society (IAS) that has become the world’s premier gathering for people working in the field of , suffers from gross underrepresentation of populations most at risk for infection, including men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender people, sex workers and people who use drugs. The independent audit, conducted by the Global Forum on MSM & (MSMGF), confirms suspicions long-held by activist groups and calls for a comprehensive review of IAC governing structures.

Un componente del té verde podría proteger frente al virus del sida

Un estudio del Instituto Heinrich-Pette de Virología Experimental e Inmunología de Hamburgo (Alemania) apunta a que las posibilidades de infección por el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH) podrían reducirse gracias a un componente descubierto en el té verde. Para que esto sea posible, esta sustancia debe ser purificada e incorporada a un microbicida vaginal, detallaron los autores en la edición digital de la revista “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” (PNAS).
