“Desde el año 2005 hemos constatado un aumento constante de los casos de afectados por Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual (ITS), principalmente en hombres que tienen relaciones sexuales con hombres, y especialmente entre los más jóvenes”. Éste es uno de los datos más significativos que expuso el doctor Jorge del Romero, infectólogo y director del Centro Sanitario Sandoval, de Madrid (clínica de referencia para las ITS en España), durante un seminario celebrado con motivo del Día Europeo de la Salud Sexual, que se celebra hoy.

The emergency contraceptive or after-morning pill is fast gaining popularity among Indian women of all ages. The pill, which is widely advertised and easily available over the counter, is often misused. Meant for use in emergencies only, more women are popping this pill on a regular basis instead of utilising regular contraceptive methods, which can have harmful effects. Experts say that the pill that is required to be taken within the first 72 hours after sexual intercourse, is not as effective as birth control pills or condoms.

Son las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS), que a nivel mundial afectan a uno de cada 10 jóvenes de entre 15 y 24 años y a cada vez más adultos mayores de 45 años.
